Join the Village Employees Benefit Fund (VEBF) in thanking the dedicated POA frontline workers who make Hot Springs Village a wonderful place to live: the hard-working hourly employees of the POA. Your donation to the Village Employees Benefit Fund reflects your respect and appreciation of the hard-working hourly employees of the POA—the line staff, the workers who groom our golf courses, collect our trash, maintain our roads and buildings, pump water into our homes, operate our wonderful facilities, patrol our streets, extinguish our fires, and yes, process our sewage.
While earning minimum wage, they do a great deal to make the Village run smoothly and to be a beautiful place to live. Your contribution will help grow the Fund ensuring that line employees receive a nice “tip” at the end of the year in recognition of their service.
95% of donations received are used for the benefit of our POA hourly workers, including the year-end cash gift, the emergency fund, and the scholarship fund.

The Hot Springs Village Property Owner’s Association employs hundreds of full- and part-time workers to meet all the challenges any municipality faces, from water treatment to policing, from golf course maintenance to trash collection, and everything in between.
These employees, not their managers, are the beneficiaries of the Village Employees Benefit Fund. In early December, just in time for the Christmas holiday, the year-end cash gifts are personally delivered to POA workers by VEBF board members on behalf of appreciative Villagers who have donated to the fund. These year-end cash gifts enable our workers to supplement their incomes at a time when budgets are typically strained to meet home heating and other holiday expenses.
Please note: The VEBF is not affiliated with the POA, and our benefits are separate from any employee benefits provided by the POA. The fund’s board would like to recognize the contribution of the POA Human Resources Department in providing the assistance the Fund needs to accurately disburse our year-end gifts to our deserving workers.
When you receive good service at a restaurant, you typically leave a 15% or 20% tip for the server. Maybe you have only been there an hour or so, but restaurant workers depend on tips to supplement their incomes. And most of us want to thank the server for his or her efforts on our behalf. We realize that our tip is meant exclusively for the worker, not the restaurant manager or owner.
The year-end cash appreciation gift from the VEBF to our POA workers, not the management, is for the same purpose: to thank the workers for their efforts for what they do day in and day out, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to make our community a beautiful and well-run place to live. The work performed by POA employees is the "meal" in our restaurant analogy, and your monthly POA assessment is the price of the meal. Your donation to the VEBF is the tip!
While the VEBF can’t give each worker a 20% tip, thanks to the generosity of our Fund members, we are able to help our workers pay an electric bill, make a car payment, or provide some nicer presents for their children at Christmastime... a very meaningful “thank you” for all their hard work and dedication.
Hey Donors! The Village Employees Benefit Fund publishes a full-page ad in the Hot Springs Village Voice, listing the names of all the donors we have, thanking them for their contributions.
