As a Villager, you can play a key role in growing the Village Employee Benefit Fund to ensure our hourly POA employees receive a cash appreciation gift to show our sincere thanks at the end of the year for all they do to make this community run smoothly and be a beautiful place to live. For workers earning an hourly wage or just above, the year-end gift really does make a difference in their lives.
When you think about it, no trash gets picked up, no golf is played, pickleball and tennis courts are not maintained, no concert is performed at the Woodlands, streets are not maintained, water and sewage won't get processed, and our beaches wash away.
Nothing happens in Hot Springs Village until a POA employee comes to work.
So, let's stay THANKS!

Through fundraising, the Village Employees Benefit Fund gives Hot Springs Village property owners and local businesses the opportunity to recognize the dedication of POA hourly workers, with an annual “Let’s Say Thanks” cash appreciation gift and other programs.
We are very fortunate to live in one of the most picturesque and well-preserved communities in the country. We take pride in calling Hot Springs Village home. We also have a stake in the future and success of the Village, including the people employed by the POA who work hard every day to make sure Hot Springs Village—from the East Gate to the West Gate and everywhere in between—is beautifully maintained.
The Village Employees Benefit Fund (VEBF), a non-profit volunteer group not associated with the POA, was founded in 1999 by Village residents to say, “Thank You” to hundreds of hourly wage employees for their service. When we have an ice storm, crippling snowstorm, fire, tornadoes, or some other emergency, their services are very visible. What isn’t so visible is their day-to-day effectiveness, even though our workers must do their jobs in heat, cold, and sometimes other dangerous conditions.
The VEBF distributes donated funds to POA employees at their annual holiday Luncheon with a thank you note from us, the residents, who deeply appreciate their dedicated performance throughout the year. Executive Management is excluded from receiving annual cash gift.
In addition to the annual “Thank You” to all the employees, generous donations to the VEBF have helped employees during times of crisis in their personal lives, such as house fires, medical bills, and funeral expenses. While the amounts may not be large, the timing is critical for these employees, and they are always very appreciative.
Full and part-time POA employees seeking to apply for continuing education funds for technical training, certification programs, and college-level studies may do so through the VEBF Continuing Education Fund. To be eligible, you must have been employed by the POA for at least one full year prior to applying. Applications are available at the POA HR office, and the process includes an interview with the Continuing Education Fund committee. Awards for college-bound applicants are made in May for the following academic year. Awards for technical training or certification programs may be at any appropriate time.

Please note: The VEBF is not affiliated with the POA, and our benefits are separate from any employee benefits provided by the POA. The fund’s board would like to recognize the contribution of the POA Human Resources Department in providing the assistance the Fund needs to accurately disburse our year-end gifts to our deserving workers.
The Year-End Cash Appreciation Gift
Your year-end cash gift will be given to you in person by our Board members during your annual POA holiday luncheon in December. If you are unable to attend the luncheon, we will work with the Human Resources Department to contact you directly to make sure it is delivered.
